BLAST MITIGATION WINDOW FILM thicknesses range from 50 micron to 300 micron and can be supplemented by a selection of frame retention systems as applicable. But there are also thinner multi layer blast mitigation window films to provide the same levels of protection as the thicker films where the glazing configuration may prevent the application of the thicker film.
The location of the glass in relation to the perceived threat, its area and its thickness will be the critical factors when deciding the correct specification of window film and whether a frame retention system is recommended.
When the blast related specification has been decided, it will then be possible to incorporate additional properties such as visual security, heat gain or glare by selecting a combined blast mitigation/privacy film or a combined blast mitigation/solar film.
